Sports Editor
May 2022 - April 2023
In my final year at university, I served as the sports editor for UBC's renowned student newspaper. During my term, I ramped up sports coverage from previous years with an emphasis on including human interest stories.
By the Numbers
In February of 2023, I curated, edited, and designed a print sports supplement themed around numbers. I used Adobe Photoshop to create illustrations to accompany articles and InDesign to layout the pages. I also wrote two of the articles.

The same weekend, our seventh-seeded women's volleyball team went on to win nationals at home. It was a chaotic few days, to say the least!
Articles
In between managing writers, pitching, and editing, I also wrote several articles. As the section editor, I was able to write on subjects that mattered to me the most. Here are some of my favorites.
National Recognition
Our newspaper won nine national student journalism awards, including Student Publication of the Year in 2023.

It was such a strong way to end the year and meant a lot see all our hard work recognized.
